Nine out of the top ten most valuable companies have collectively increased their market capitalization by Rs 1.80 lakh crore

During the past week, the combined market capitalization of nine out of the top-10 most valued companies surged by Rs 1,80,788.99 crore, reflecting the overall positive trend in the equity markets. Leading this growth was Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which emerged as the biggest gainer.

The week saw the BSE benchmark index surging by 1,239.72 points or 1.86 percent. The BSE Sensex, comprising 30 shares, recorded its 11th consecutive day of gains on Friday. It closed at a record high of 67,838.63, marking an increase of 319.63 points or 0.47 percent.

Among the top-10 firms, Hindustan Unilever Limited was the only one to experience a decline in market valuation. On the winners’ side were Reliance Industries Limited, TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, ITC, State Bank of India, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Finance.

TCS witnessed a substantial increase in market capitalization, rising by Rs 57,300.75 crore to reach Rs 13,17,203.61 crore. HDFC Bank also added Rs 28,974.82 crore to its market capitalization, which reached Rs 12,58,989.87 crore. Bharti Airtel saw a gain of Rs 28,354.73 crore, taking its market capitalization to Rs 5,23,723.56 crore. Infosys observed a surge of Rs 17,680.53 crore, with a market capitalization of Rs 6,27,637.87 crore.

ICICI Bank’s valuation rose by Rs 15,364.55 crore, reaching Rs 6,94,844.51 crore, while State Bank of India saw an increase of Rs 13,342.3 crore, reaching Rs 5,34,048.78 crore. Reliance Industries added Rs 7,442.79 crore to its market capitalization, totaling Rs 16,64,377.02 crore, and ITC gained Rs 7,232.74 crore, reaching Rs 5,59,165.44 crore. Bajaj Finance witnessed a rise of Rs 5,095.78 crore in its valuation, which stood at Rs 4,54,039.37 crore.

However, Hindustan Unilever’s market capitalization declined by Rs 10,514.42 crore, reaching Rs 5,80,325.55 crore.

In terms of market capitalization rankings, Reliance Industries maintained its position as the most valued company, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, State Bank of India, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Finance.
