Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the first phase of the Yashobhoomi international convention and expo center in Dwarka, New Delhi, on September 17th. This project, known as Yashobhoomi, was developed at a cost of approximately Rs 5,400 crore and spans an extensive area of over 8.9 lakh square meters. The convention center features 15 convention rooms, a grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms, providing seating capacity for more than 11,000 delegates in total.
During the inauguration, the Prime Minister also marked the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, extending it from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station, Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25. This extension is part of the government’s efforts to connect the vast convention center to the Delhi Metro system.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi formally launched the Vishwakarma scheme, which has a budget of Rs 13,000 crore and is aimed at enhancing the training, quality, and outreach of traditional artisans and craftsmen.
