Hyundai Motor India Ltd has celebrated a remarkable achievement

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has celebrated a remarkable achievement, surpassing its highest-ever domestic sales in 2023 by crossing the six-lakh milestone with a total of 6,02,111 units sold. This significant 9% year-on-year growth not only underscores Hyundai’s success but also reflects a strategic shift in the company’s approach in the Indian market. The focus is now on safety, inclusivity, and meeting evolving customer preferences.

Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at HMIL, highlighted the company’s achievement, stating, “In the momentous year of 2023, Hyundai Motor India witnessed a watershed moment by achieving its highest-ever domestic sales of 6,02,111 units, achieving a respectable 9 per cent growth over LY sales volume.” He emphasized that Hyundai has not only kept pace with industry growth (estimated at around 8.2%) but has surpassed it, showcasing customers’ preference for the Hyundai brand.

One key aspect of Hyundai’s strategy is prioritizing safety. HMIL became the first mass-market carmaker to offer six airbags as standard across all models and trims. This commitment to safety resulted in a 5-star rating for the Hyundai VERNA from the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). This move has resonated well with customers in a safety-conscious market, setting Hyundai apart in this aspect.

Garg further emphasized, “Brand Hyundai now epitomizes a high level of safety for our esteemed customers.” The company’s dedication to safety is evident in its standardization of six airbags across all models and trims. The Hyundai VERNA’s 5-star rating from GNCAP adds to the brand’s safety credentials.

In addition to safety, Hyundai’s strategic initiatives include the launch of the Hyundai EXTER, which has not only received acclaim from customers and critics but has also surpassed the milestone of 1 lakh bookings. To align with Hyundai’s group vision of “Progress for Humanity,” HMIL has initiated ‘Samarth,’ a corporate endeavor supporting differently-abled individuals and fostering an inclusive environment.

Garg concluded by reaffirming Hyundai’s commitment to India, stating, “Our commitment to India remains unwavering, and we pledge to bring forth products and technologies that resonate with our customers’ aspirations.” The company’s strategic approach, emphasizing safety, inclusivity, and customer-centric innovations, has played a pivotal role in achieving this record-breaking sales milestone.
