Tata Play plans to provide its OTT aggregator app platform as a white-label solution

Tata Play, the content distribution platform known for its pay-TV and OTT aggregation services, has unveiled the Tata Play Binge PaaS (Platform as a Service) designed for OTT aggregators worldwide. This offering provides end-to-end backend solutions and hosting via the cloud to international partners. Tata Play’s first partnership under this initiative is with the Philippines’ pay-TV provider, Cignal TV.

Tata Play Binge PaaS opens up the company’s software architecture for comprehensive development and deployment opportunities, offering services such as commercial partnerships, recommendation engines, subscription management, analytics, and more. This solution enables users to access content from multiple OTT apps with a single subscription through one app on one screen.

Jane J Basas, President and CEO of Cignal TV, expressed interest in adopting an OTT aggregation product and highlighted Tata Play Binge’s success as a model to follow. They are finalizing their partnership with Tata Play, with plans to launch their aggregator service within a year.

This collaboration will enable Cignal TV to enter the aggregator service market more quickly and cost-effectively. In India, Tata Play Binge already offers users access to 28 national, regional, and international apps in 13 languages, including Disney+ Hotstar, Apple TV+, ZEE5, SonyLIV, and more.

Tata Play, a joint venture between the Tata Group and the Walt Disney Company, has been approved by the Securities and Exchange Board of India to raise funds through an initial public offering (IPO), making it the first company in India to use the confidential pre-filing of draft papers option. They have over 18 months from the date of SEBI’s approval to file for the IPO.
